Damn, time does fly

Now I preface this with the fact that SAAK has never spent more than two consecutive weeks not working … but damn, this whole lazing around shite has its upside.

It is beyond SAAK’s comprehension that he has been out of the big bad for three and a half weeks now … and no Steph, SAAK (whilst he wishes that he was) was not kidnapped by Meghan and Auburn (sorry SAAK needs to take a moment and day dream … mmmm not what you would call forced captivity).

The past 24 days have been sooooo relaxing, waking up at 9am, heading straight for the golf course, finish by mid day, few hands of euchre, couple of beers, quick swim in the parent’s pool, barbeque, few more beers .. all in all a tough existence.

SAAK is having some issues settling back into sharing an abode with his parents, no arguments per se, but his mother has a nasty tendency to force him to eat, irrelevant to the existence or lack there of of hunger. Let’s put it this way, when SAAK left Sydney he was 5’11 and 72kg, he is now still 5’11 but 77 kg, at this rate he is going to by 5’11 and 100kg in no time flat. (SAAK’s diet for the past 10 years has been coffee and cigarette for breakfast, cigarette and coffee for lunch then beer and some food for dinner and vodka for dessert).

Christmas at SAAK’s parents place was, as always, a big family affair. Cars started arriving around 11am (enough time Xmas morning to be woken by SAAK’s little sister (25) at 6am to open presents and have a massive breakfast) and beers were broken out about 11.01. There were around 25 family (Aunts Uncles, Cousins, children of cousins) for Christmas lunch (like after breakfast we needed to eat more) which lasted from 11.02 to 4, then a few cleansing ales lead into a deep, deep booze induced sleep.

For the first time in ages SAAK is actually looking forward to going back to Sydney, this is mainly due to the fact that it is only for 5 days and that 5 days is based purely on South Africa being able to sustain a 5 day test match.

SAAK would have written earlier but, thinking about it, Golf, beer, golf, beer, golf, beer, makes for some pretty damn entertainless reading…..

HAPPY NEW YEAR ALL…….

Well I don't think you could get any further from nutjob K and the evils of accountancy. Merry Christmas - may the contentment continue.

Auburn, next time you are just past the middle of nowhere in this small country town, we'll play golf.

Look forward to reading about your 2006, I know it will be great.

The best thing about the silly season - alcohol-induced happiness.

Have a good 2006 :)
