How time it doth fly..

It is hard for SAAK to comprehend, but it has been over six months since he departed the big bad.

The main “if you have to be lonely, you might as well be lonely where there are people who talk to you” theory for leaving has, for the most part, panned out reasonably. That’s not to say SAAK has not fallen back into his old any old rut will suffice way of life.

The new job is not too bad, very similar to the old one, with the main exception of the staff seeming to be relatively sane and, get this, pleasant to work for. There is actual praise for tasks well done, yes, actual praise.

It did take SAAK a while to get over his “what is this person’s ulterior motive” and “what is actually behind that seemingly innocuous smile” scepticism that life in the city had drummed into him. Having said that, there are times when that nagging “surely there is something I’m missing here” feeling does take over.

In the past six months, SAAK has even had a pay rise, from next to nothing to slightly more than next to nothing, but hey, it took 3 years in his old job before his first increase.

The new rut that SAAK has developed, combined with staying with his parents has, unfortunately precluded him from maintaining SAAKland, but hopefully, when it eventually warms up, he will get back in and do some house cleaning.

When SAAK first moved to the middle of nowhere, IT WAS HOT, unnecessarily hot, mid to late 30ies every day. This lasted for about three months, then it become COLD, unnecessarily cold. Days here at the moment range from minus 8, yes MINUS 8, to about 7 degrees. It is cold!

There are some things that SAAK does miss about the big city, the main being the female population. Whilst SAAK did fail miserably for the main part in that venture, at least there were females around. Here, mmmm, not.

On the bright side, SAAK is going back to the big city next month for a week. He is looking forward to that, let’s catch up for a beer or two.

Anon.
